Richard A. Hirschen, CPA
After beginning his accounting career with a large national firm, Rich Hirschen joined Gray, Gray & Gray in 1996. After spending several years providing audit and tax services to clients, Rich left the firm to accept a position in the private sector, managing the accounting function for two different companies, including an internet start-up company that received two rounds of venture funding and was planning an IPO; and a private, closely held business.
Rich's diverse background in both public and private accounting gives him a unique perspective on the challenges and needs of companies. His strengths lie in establishing solid financial systems and internal control procedures. This includes setting up revenue recognition procedures, creating accounts payable systems and providing management reports and analysis as well as long term strategic planning.
In addition to his work in financial controls and accounting, Rich has experience in selecting and implementing 401(k) and other employee benefit plans and managing effective payroll systems.
Rich returned to Gray, Gray & Gray in 2003 to apply his private accounting experiences to other start-up and closely held companies by designing and implementing financial controls and accounting systems as well as providing tax and accounting consulting.
